Jackson Simmons was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. Those runs marked the first that he scored this season.
In other batting news, Southside Christian let Landon Pourron and Jason Burke run wild. Pourron scored three runs while going 2-for-3, while Burke scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave Burke a new career-high. Zeke Ragan also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
