The Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were outmatched by Cusick at home and fell 89-56. Tekoa-Rosalia was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-23.
Loss or not, Tekoa-Rosalia got some senior leadership from Isaac Bone and Vanden Allen. Bone scored 28 points along with nine rebounds and three steals, while Allen. dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. That was a full 50% of Tekoa-Rosalia's points, marking the 16th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Joseph Menga, who scored three points along with three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Tekoa-Rosalia and nudges their season record down to 7-9. As for Cusick, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tekoa-Rosalia will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cusick, they will head out on the road to take on Columbia at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Columbia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 357th, while Cusick is ranked 100th).
