The Ridgedale Rockets will head out on the road to take on the Elgin Comets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Ridgedale's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Perry 15-0. The win continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Commodores: they've now won six in a row.

Kenzie Delaney made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jillian Slaughterbeck, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenda Scott, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Ridgedale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Perry only posted an OBP of .000.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elgin). Everything went their way against Crestline on Friday as they made off with a 16-0 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Comets with their most commanding win of the season.
Madison Hill made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Hill was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kaylee Crist was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Mallorie Hempy also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Elgin is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ridgedale, their record is now 9-6.
Ridgedale came out on top in a nail-biter against Elgin when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
