Animo De La Hoya and Stern are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Animo De La Hoya Boxers will head out on the road to square off against the Stern Titans at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Animo De La Hoya is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
Last Thursday, Animo De La Hoya came up short against Rise Kohyang and fell 39-30.
Meanwhile, Stern slipped by Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus 51-50 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Stern.
Among those leading the charge was Vince Villanueva, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jr Romero, who scored 12 points.
Animo De La Hoya has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Stern, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Animo De La Hoya was dealt a bruising 68-30 loss at the hands of Stern when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Animo De La Hoya avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
