Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Fleming Island duked it out withEpiscopal School of Jacksonville on Monday. Fleming Island walked away with a 54-41 win over Episcopal School of Jacksonville. The Golden Eagles pushed the score to 47-23 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.
Fleming Island's win came from a few key players Ridgeview will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Seven Gourdet, who put up 11 points along with six boards and three steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Noble, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 14 points.
Fleming Island pushed their record up to 8-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Ridgeview, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Ridgeview has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 24.7 boards per game.
