The Morehead Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat North Forsyth 87-31 at home. Morehead has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 26 points or more this season.
Makel Smith was his usual excellent self, scoring 44 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Bigelow, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Morehead has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for North Forsyth, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morehead won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Magna Vista at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Magna Vista is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. North Forsyth on the road again on Friday and play against Reidsville at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Reidsville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,101 points over their last 14 matches.
