In what's become a running theme this season, Coram Deo Academy gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They breezed by Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep at home to the tune of 88-13. Given Coram Deo Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 529th, while the are ranked 1383rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Coram Deo Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Lily Patterson, who scored 19 points along with six steals and five rebounds, and Hannah Newton, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Newton scored 15 or more points. Campbell Skelly was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Brighter Horizons Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Coram Deo Academy, their win bumped their record up to 19-11.
Brighter Horizons Academy was dealt a bruising 72-4 defeat at the hands of the Lions in their previous matchup back in January. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Brighter Horizons Academy was down 48-1.
