The Wyomissing Spartans will venture away from home to face off against the Berks Catholic Saints at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Berks Catholic will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Wyomissing extended their winning streak to three on Monday. The Spartans were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over Hamburg.

Birkley Ziegler and Noah Rauenzahn did most of the damage at the plate: Ziegler got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Rauenzahn went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Rauenzahn a new career-high. Derek Macrina was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Berks Catholic made sure to put some runs up on the board against Brandywine Heights Area on Monday. The Saints were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Bullets. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 30, 2018, but that streak is no more.
The team relied heavily on Dennys Rodriguez, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Owen Schalk, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Berks Catholic lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Wyomissing's record now sits at 12-5. As for Berks Catholic, their record is now an identical 12-5.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wyomissing hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .364. However, it's not like Berks Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .322. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
