Brooke Bledsoe made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeeznie Marcelin, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, Seacrest Country Day entered their tilt with Community School of Naples on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against the Seahawks. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Caroline Porter made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. In other batting news, Dailin 'D' Delgado was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Jolie Booth was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Seacrest Country Day's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lely, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.
Lely might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Seacrest Country Day in their previous meeting on April 3rd. Will the Trojans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
