Paige Baker made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
Baker wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kam Commins, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Bellbrook came into Tuesday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Valley View 16-4 on Tuesday. With that victory, the Golden Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.
Like Ross, Bellbrook also got a great game from a two-way player: Abigail Hebrank (2028). She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk). Hebrank (2028) was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Cheyenne Duhl (2025) was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Heidi Pummell (2027) was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
Bellbrook was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .488. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Ross pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Bellbrook, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Ross was able to grind out a solid win over Bellbrook in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 4-1. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
