The Brewbaker Tech Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. The matchup between Brewbaker Tech and Stone Memorial wasn't particularly close, with Brewbaker Tech falling 64-50.
Brewbaker Tech's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Erin Martin, who scored 20 points along with four steals. Martin scored a full 40% of Brewbaker Tech's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedi Mcghee, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Brewbaker Tech has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Stone Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
Brewbaker Tech will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Demopolis at 5:30 p.m. on January 9th. As for Stone Memorial, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Cookeville at 6:00 p.m. Cookeville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Stone Memorial in Tennessee (Cookeville is ranked sixth, while Stone Memorial is ranked 148th).
