They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 51-0 victory over Newark. The result was nothing new for Red Lion Christian Academy, who have now won five matches by 22 points or more so far this season.
Among those leading the charge was Geovanni Ramirez, who rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacque Wilson, who rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Another reason for the win was Red Lion Christian Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Xavier Moore and Shane Caleb who racked up five sacks between them.
Red Lion Christian Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Newark, Mount Pleasant, and Delaware Military Academy. As for Newark, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Red Lion Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Caravel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Caravel will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. As for Newark, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Concord at 11:00 a.m. Concord has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since September 9.
