The Taylor County Bulldogs lost against the Franklin County Seahawks back in November, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Taylor County took a hard 60-44 fall against Franklin County. Taylor County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was LeeAsia Johnson, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jershila Glover, who scored 11 points.
Leading Franklin County to victory were Mahala Griggs and Sa'ryiah McNair. Griggs scored 21 points, while McNair scored 22 points. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Creamer, who scored nine points.
Taylor County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Franklin County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taylor County will challenge Godby at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Godby presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Taylor County in Florida (Godby is ranked 195th, while Taylor County is ranked 598th). As for Franklin County, they will head out on the road to face off against Robertsdale at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
