This season hasn't been kind to the Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines, who are still winless after their fourth match. They took a serious blow against Superior on Saturday, falling 52-22. Wilber-Clatonia lost against Superior in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 53-43 score last time.
Leading Superior to victory were Reagan Meyers and Sadie Cornell. Meyers scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds, while Cornell scored 21 points along with 6 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Cornell has scored at least 25% of Superior's points. Faith Butler was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 5 rebounds.
Wilber-Clatonia has yet to win a game at home this season, leaving them with a 0-4 record. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.3 points per game. As for Superior, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Wilber-Clatonia will be home for the holidays to greet Sandy Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Superior, they will head out on the road to face off against Blue Hill on Tuesday. Hopefully Blue Hill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Saturday.
