It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial Wolverines can now relate to. They were beaten by Flour Bluff 52-21 on Friday. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it four in a row.
Jayden Paluseo was his usual excellent self, throwing for 291 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Paluseo has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Johnson, who rushed for 92 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Flour Bluff, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Flour Bluff will square off against Veterans Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Veterans Memorial is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
