Basketball Recap: Grafton Drops Highest Score of Season Against Preston

Grafton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 59-51 to the Preston Knights. One positive for the Bearcats, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Preston was led to victory by Easton Hayes and Kaden Bachtel. Hayes dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards, while Bachtel went 6 for 11 en route to 16 points and four steals. That's the most points Hayes has posted since back in January of 2024. Aaron White was another key player, putting up 11 points and six rebounds.

Grafton's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Preston, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Grafton will head out on the road to challenge Philip Barbour at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Grafton is facing Philip Barbour at the right time seeing as Philip Barbour is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. Preston has already played their next contest (against Fairmont Senior), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
