It was a good run, but The Wayne Valley Indians unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They were outmatched by Mount Olive on the road and fell 28-0. While losing is never fun, Wayne Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 120th, while Mount Olive is ranked 28th).
Mount Olive was led to victory by Tyler Cumming and Jake Asbury. Cumming rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown, while Asbury rushed for 43 yards and two touchdowns.
Wayne Valley now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Mount Olive, the victory was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Wayne Valley will head out on the road to face off against Mount Olive at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount Olive, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wayne Valley at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Wayne Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four on Friday.
