The Alchesay Falcons will be playing at home against the Ganado Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Alchesay's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 74-59 bruising from Monument Valley. Alchesay has struggled against the Mustangs recently, as their match on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, Alchesay saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kamryn Nachu, who scored ten points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Jim, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Ganado suffered a rough 63-42 defeat at the hands of the Sand Devils on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Ganado can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Sand Devils are ranked tenth).
Alchesay has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season. As for Ganado, they dropped their record down to 11-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
Alchesay was able to grind out a solid victory over the Hornets in their previous matchup back in January, winning 55-48. Does Alchesay have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
