Covington took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They breezed past the Tri-County Cavaliers to the tune of 51-0. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Covington's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Beau Bishop, who rushed for 128 yards and three TDs. Bishop showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 54 yards. Another big playmaker for Covington was Kyven Hill, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Covington was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 318 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 188 rushing yards in eight consecutive contests dating back to last season.
