Troy and Genesee are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Troy Trojans will be playing at home against the Genesee Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Troy and four for Genesee.
Troy suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. Their tough 52-27 defeat to Potlatch might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Troy has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Genesee pushed their score all the way to 62 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 79-62 to Logos. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Genesee in their matchups with Logos: they've now lost six in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Seth Vestal, who scored 17 points. Teak Wareham was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Troy has fallen quite a ways from their 14-7 record last season and are now at 3-6. As for Genesee, they bumped their record down to 1-12 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Troy took their victory against Genesee in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 66-40. Does Troy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Genesee turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
