Port Barre had a rough outing against Opelousas Catholic last week, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Port Barre were able to grind out a solid victory over Mamou on Friday, winning 14-0. Mamou can consider this payback for the 14-15 loss they dealt Port Barre the last time the teams encountered one another.
The win got Port Barre back to even at 2-2. Mamou are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-4.
Next week Port Barre take on Pine Prairie at 7:00 PM. The team will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last. As for Mamou, they will face off against Iota. Mamou stagger into the match hobbled by four consecutive losses while Iota skip in buoyed by four consecutive wins.
