The Sonoma Valley Dragons''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Casa Grande at home and fell 41-14. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sonoma Valley in their matchups with Casa Grande: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the defeat, Sonoma Valley had strong showings from Hudson Giarritta, who picked up 165 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Trent Ohman, who threw for 283 yards and two touchdowns. Giarritta is on a roll when it comes to receiving touchdowns, as he's now hauled in two or more in the last four games he's played.
Cade Rea was a one-man wrecking crew for Casa Grande as he rushed for 193 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Rea really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run. Enzo Murray was another key contributor, rushing for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
Sonoma Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Casa Grande, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Sonoma Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Casa Grande will look to defend their home field on Friday against Tamalpais at 7:00 p.m.
