The First Flight Nighthawks fell victim to the Currituck County Knights''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Knights 38-0. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for First Flight in their matchups with Currituck County: they've now lost six in a row.
Devin Duke looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 97 yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Jamie Dance got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
First Flight's defeat was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.7 points per game. As for Currituck County, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
First Flight does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Currituck County also has no future games currently scheduled.
