Jake Zembiec and Alex Bianchi provided fans with a highlight when they connected against St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute. The connection was good for 54 yards, the longest such play in Section 5 Freelance this season.
Batavia made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,213 from 5,472. The improvement was the result of 30-14 victory over the Blue Devils last week.
Aquinas Institute's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Zembiec threw for 266 and one touchdown and Bianchi had 121 yards receiving. On the ground Billy Lombardi chipped in 66 yards. Alonzo Turney helped Aquinas Institute's passing attack out by catching two balls for 64 yards.
Aquinas Institute's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Little Irish feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Zembiec has thrown for 561 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Turney has 14 catches for 215 yards. Lombardi leads the league in rushing with 455 yards.
University Prep led the league in scoring this week after putting up 30 points on University Prep.
