If South Allegheny was feeling good  fresh off their  64-14 takedown of Sto-Rox last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gladiators came up short against  the Steel Valley Ironmen on Friday, falling  33-12. The Gladiators were red-hot offensively heading into the  game (they scored no less than 31  points in the five  matchups prior), but the Ironmen's defense proved too tough.
 South Allegheny's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Joey Gamret, who rushed for 75 yards and one  score.
  Da`Ron Barksdale had another great game (as  he tends to do), rushing for 176 yards and three  TDs for Steel Valley. The Ironmen are undefeated when  Barksdale posts two or  more  rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.  Ashad Dye got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Having lost for the first time  this season, South Allegheny  fell to 9-1. As for Steel Valley, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record  this season.
As of now, neither South Allegheny nor Steel Valley have any future games scheduled.
