Tidehaven came tearing into Saturday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 52-36 victory over the El Campo Ricebirds. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 306th, while the Ricebirds are ranked 1016th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tidehaven's win bumped their record up to 23-1. As for El Campo, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tidehaven will square off against Hallettsville at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for El Campo, they will take on Brazosport at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Riannah Miles and Deja El-Amin.
