Breckin Bye made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Sean Anglin looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.
Back at the plate, Silver Creek got a massive performance out of Jack Murphy, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Murphy has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Boston Roberts, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Silver Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Borden only posted an OBP of .240.
Charlestown's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Silver Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Charlestown hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. However, it's not like Silver Creek struggles in that department as they've averaged .313. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Charlestown couldn't quite get it done against Silver Creek in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 as they fell 4-0. Will the Pirates have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
