Sierra Vista is 9-1 against Spring Valley since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Mountain Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Grizzlies at 3:30 p.m. Sierra Vista is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Monday just wasn't the day for Sierra Vista's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Doral Academy Red Rock on Monday. The Mountain Lions' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Reagan Foglia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
Spring Valley never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Bonanza on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bengals a 16-0 shutout. Considering the Grizzlies have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Cheyenne Stephens-Davis made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. Stephens-Davis was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Spring Valley got a massive performance out of Aubreyana Sanchez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Sanchez has posted since back in March of 2024. Isabella Lenahan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Spring Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matchups.
Spring Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Sierra Vista, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
Sierra Vista suffered a grim 10-2 defeat to Spring Valley in their previous matchup on April 11th. Can the Mountain Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
