Basketball Game Preview: Somerset Sky Pointe Eagles vs. Clark Chargers

The Somerset Sky Pointe Eagles will face off against the Clark Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Somerset Sky Pointe took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They claimed a resounding 62-14 win over Varsity Opponent.

Somerset Sky Pointe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ja'Cory Gory, who went 9 for 21 on his way to 20 points and four steals. The matchup was Gory's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmitt Bell, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Clark scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 76-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of Legacy. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Longhorns recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Somerset Sky Pointe's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4. As for Clark, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Somerset Sky Pointe ended up a good deal behind Clark in their previous matchup back in January, losing 70-52. Can Somerset Sky Pointe avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
