Given Sargent County's advantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Enderlin is ranked 98th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Oakes was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 49-45 to Maple River.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Lily Thorpe, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Kassidy Jackson, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Sargent County's victory bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Oakes, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
Sargent County couldn't quite finish off Oakes when the teams last played back in January of 2023 and fell 56-54.
