Given Port Clinton's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while Edison is ranked 544th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Edison still got an impressive performance from Jorja Byington, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Byington is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ella Booth, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Port Clinton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Edison, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Port Clinton will square off against Huron at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Edison, they will head out on the road to challenge Margaretta at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Margaretta is coming into the game with eight straight wins at home, so Edison is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
