Softball Recap: Bishop McCort Takes a Loss

Bishop McCort made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Richland, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Crushers fell just short of the Rams by a score of 5-3 on Friday. The Crushers haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Bishop McCort saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kalina Bailey, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Bishop McCort now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Richland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop McCort will square off against Bishop Carroll at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Huskies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.67 runs per game on average), something the Crushers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Richland, they will challenge Bedford at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bisons have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season.
