Basketball Recap: Umatilla Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Ray Jenkins and Shawn Donovan

Umatilla was the 63-39 winner over Trinity Christian Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Umatilla Bulldogs fell 62-54 to the Trinity Christian Academy Eagles on Monday.

Shawn Donovan and Ray Jenkins certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Donovan dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 boards, while Jenkins posted 12 points and four steals. The game was Donovan's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Frazier, who earned seven points.

Umatilla has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Trinity Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

Umatilla wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-55 win against West Port on the 3rd. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-38 victory against Calvary Christian Academy on the 6th.
