After flying high against the Castlemont Knights last Wednesday, the Skyline Titans came back down to earth. Skyline was the victim of a tough 55-34 loss at the hands of the Wildcats on Friday. While losing is never fun, Skyline can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 612th, while the Wildcats are ranked 116th).
Oakland had a senior duo take command as Isaac Johnson scored 16 points along with three steals and Anthony Lacy scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. Johnson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Chapple, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Skyline has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. As for Oakland, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Skyline will take on the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Oakland, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Modesto Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matches.
