The Moore Haven Terriers came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 53-16 victory over McLaughlin. The team ran away with 44 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.
Moore Haven's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shakur Williams, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Williams also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Clarence Hunter, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Moore Haven is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for McLaughlin, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Moore Haven will be playing in front of their home fans against Marco Island Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McLaughlin will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Roosevelt Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 25th.
