The Conestoga Pioneers will square off against the Penncrest Lions at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Conestoga has three straight wins, Penncrest has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Conestoga proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by eight) and last Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Cardinal O'Hara 10-8.
Henry Fuerst looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Chase Cherny, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, Penncrest scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lower Merion. Surprisingly, this marked the Lions' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Nash Grant was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Harry Giles was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Penncrest's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Conestoga, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
