Softball Recap: Yerington Has No Trouble Against Silver Stage

Yerington won the last time they faced Silver Stage and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lions were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over the Nighthawks. Considering the Lions have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Yerington got a massive performance out of Amaree Savage, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits Savage has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brianna Valenzuela, who scored a run and stole five bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Yerington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Silver Stage only posted an OBP of .348.

The victory made it two in a row for Yerington and bumps their season record up to 12-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Silver Stage, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Yerington will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Nighthawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
