Plano has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Richmond-Burton Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Plano focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
A well-balanced attack led Plano over the Hornets in every quarter on their way to victory. Plano was the clear victor by a 53-31 margin over the Hornets. Plano pushed the score to 42-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hornets had little chance of recovering from.
Josie Larson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Plano's points. Another player making a difference was Aleksa Martinez, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Richmond-Burton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Marengo 54-20. While losing is never fun, Richmond-Burton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 637th, while the Indians are ranked 236th).
Plano's win bumped their record up to 14-16. As for Richmond-Burton, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 18 of their last 19 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-24 record this season.
Plano beat the Rockets 46-33 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Plano since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
