Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Oldenburg Academy Twisters, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 49-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles on Saturday. Oldenburg Academy's loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.
Jac-Cen-Del's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Julia Meyer led the charge by scoring 15 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Meyer hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Kelsey Borgman, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Oldenburg Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Jac-Cen-Del, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.
Oldenburg Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jac-Cen-Del and the Eels will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Eminence will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Eagles are ranked 106th).
