After two games on the road, Runge is heading back home. They will take on The Victoria Cobra HomeSchool Cobra at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Runge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1193rd, while Victoria Cobra HomeSchool is ranked 50th).
Runge fell victim to Somerville's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 2-0 loss at the hands of the Yeguas.
Meanwhile, Victoria Cobra HomeSchool put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They were the clear victor by a 54-30 margin over Annapolis Christian Academy. The result was nothing new for Victoria Cobra HomeSchool, who have now won three contests by 24 points or more so far this season.
Israel Sauceda continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 291 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 15.3 yards per carry. Sauceda is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maverick Robertson, who rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
Runge's defeat was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-11. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 2.22 points per game. As for Victoria Cobra HomeSchool, their win on Friday bumped their record up to 7-0.
