The Santa Rosa Panthers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 42-0 loss at the hands of Rancho Cotate. Santa Rosa has struggled against Rancho Cotate recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Nolan Bankston threw for 113 yards on 13 of 29 attempts. Cooper J lee was his top target, picking up 46 receiving yards. On the ground, Adan Lemus rushed for 34 yards.
Rancho Cotate got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Geovanny Ortiz out in front who rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Ortiz is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jacob Pruitt, who rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.
Santa Rosa has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Rancho Cotate, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
