The Topsail Pirates had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Dixon 53-17 on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-10.
Riley Trimble was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored 9 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 steals. Trimble is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Rhianna Garmendiz, who scored 7 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals.
Topsail's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Dixon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
Topsail will head out on the road to face off against East Bladen at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dixon, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Spring Creek at 5:30 p.m.
