Antwerp has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Hicksville Aces at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Thursday, Antwerp was the victim of a rough 48-25 defeat at the hands of the Pilots. While losing is never fun, Antwerp can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 418th, while the Pilots are ranked 100th).
Meanwhile, Hicksville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight defeat. They were beaten by Tinora 58-24. Hicksville was down 48-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Despite the defeat, Hicksville saw an underclassman step up: Kennedy Adams scored 15 points.
Antwerp has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Hicksville, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-16.
Everything came up roses for Antwerp against the Aces in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 61-32 victory. Will Antwerp repeat their success, or do the Aces have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
