Burlington/South Burlington may have come out ahead in their last matchup, but they shouldn't get too cocky given who is up next. They will challenge Rice Memorial on the road at 1:00 PM on Saturday. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps state rankings project a close matchup.
Burlington/South Burlington gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener last week. They were the clear victor with a 21-0 margin.
Meanwhile, Rice Memorial faced Mt. Mansfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Rice Memorial got past Mt. Mansfield with less than a touchdown to spare, ending up at 26-22.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 1-0. We'll see which team can carry over their success and which team inevitably falls when Burlington/South Burlington and Rice Memorial clash.
