The Salisbury Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their ninth straight loss. They were beaten by Delmarva Christian 62-16. Salisbury was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-10.
Kayleigh DeMarco was Salisbury's leading scorer, having posted six points. DeMarco also led the team in rebounds with nine.
Petra Burgmann took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Salisbury's defeat was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Delmarva Christian, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 17-1.
Salisbury does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Delmarva Christian, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Laurel at 5:15 p.m. on February 19th. Delmarva Christian's defense has only allowed 23.9 points per game this season, so Laurel's offense will have their work cut out for them.
