The King's Academy Lions had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They took down Lakeway Christian Academy 70-56. Given King's Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Lakeway Christian Academy is ranked 207th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
King's Academy found their leader in underclassman Skylar Walden, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Walden has scored at least 25% of King's Academy's points. Brady Branam was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
King's Academy pushed their record up to 13-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Lakeway Christian Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. King's Academy's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Christian Academy of Knoxville at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Christian Academy of Knoxville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 181 points over their last three matchups. As for Lakeway Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Providence Academy at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Providence Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Tuesday.
