Softball Recap: Silver Creek Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Silver Creek, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Columbus North Bull Dogs 9-8. This was payback for the Dragons, who suffered a 5-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Karmen McMillan looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kaitlyn Whitlock was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Lola Hall was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Silver Creek's record now sits at 18-10. As for Columbus North, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-11.

Silver Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Columbus North, they will challenge Columbus East at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
