Basketball Recap: London Makes It Ten in a Row on the Road

London won the last time they faced George West and things went their way on Friday too. The London Pirates enjoyed a cozy 46-32 victory over the George West Longhorns. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while the Longhorns are ranked 1132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

London's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Salinas, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 17 points and six steals. The dominant performance gave Salinas a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ac Carpentier, who posted 14 points and five steals.

George West's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tristen Blevins, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 16 points and four steals, and Trevor Poe, who had eight points and eight boards. That was a full 50% of George West's points, marking the 15th time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Christopher Bernal, who posted six points and seven rebounds.

London's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.1 points per game. As for George West, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season.

London didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-41 win against Taft on the 7th. As for George West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-38 loss against West Oso on the 7th.
