Bethel Christian scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-41 win over Dunsmuir. That 17 points margin sets a new team best for Bethel Christian this season.
Bethel Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Johnson, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Rad Schenkenberger, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least a third of Bethel Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Gionni Munoz, who scored no points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Big Valley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 43-33 to Surprise Valley.
The victory makes it two in a row for Bethel Christian and bumps their season record up to 2-7. As for Big Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
Bethel Christian took a serious blow against Big Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 51-20. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Big Valley's Josue Barba, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds.
