The Hamburg Hawks fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 34-26 win over Columbia on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Hamburg, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Columbia's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Cameron Mcclair, who threw for 146 yards and three touchdowns. Artie Poindexter also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Even if they lost, Columbia's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Hamburg's QB was sacked five times before it was all said and done. Hamburg's QB won't forget Stud Campbell anytime soon given Campbell sacked him five times.
Hamburg is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Columbia, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
Hamburg will look to defend their home field on Friday against Berks Catholic at 7:00 p.m. Columbia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
